Instead of a half day Health & Safety training course for all site staff, all 180 employees are now taking part in one full day of training, split across a number of sessions, including small group sessions in November, at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford.
Half the day will be spent engaging in health and safety training including asbestos, manual handling, spit gun, abrasive wheel, and environmental considerations. This will then be followed by a company update and an interactive session where Darke & Taylor’s mission of delivering ‘Connected Excellence’ will be discussed, with everyone having the opportunity to give their opinions and ideas on a range of subjects. A consultant who has done a study on “organisational energy” at the company will also be delivering a session that looks at how good energy within a company can drive performance.
Simon Newton, Commercial Director at Darke & Taylor, said: “Our goal is to inspire and support our employees to grow in the workplace, keeping them engaged and satisfied with their work. Our comprehensive training programme is an investment in our staff at every level, and this pays dividends in terms of both staff retention and recruitment.”
