The 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations has been published and Darke & Taylor has been busy getting up to speed on the changes to the electrical industry, which come into effect in January 2019. The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems.
At the Vue cinema in Oxford, 25 engineers from across different parts of the business, including contracting, estimating and testing, attended a live broadcast from the Faraday Theatre in London as part of the NICEIC and ELECSA’s innovative 18th Edition Live event. This technical conference on the new regulations was a world first, streamed to 40 cinemas across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. In addition, engineers from Darke & Taylor have attended ECA roadshows at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge and Cheltenham Racecourse as part of the ECA’s #Project18 series of roadshows. All relevant engineers will also be upskilled over the coming months at JTL’s Oxford Training Centre at Culham where they will complete the City & Guilds/EAL 18th Edition qualification.
Simon Newton, Director of Darke & Taylor, said: “Ongoing training is always front of mind at Darke & Taylor to ensure all our employees are fully up to date with the latest regulations in the industry, giving the correct advice and delivering the best possible service to our customers.”
