As part of a series of events to mark its Diamond Anniversary, Darke & Taylor recently held a celebratory garden party that was attended by existing staff and many previous employees who have now retired from the company.
With the sun shining and a delicious hog roast, the event was a huge success. An amazing £1,174 was raised for the Electrical Industries Charity through a staff raffle, where a fantastic array of prizes was up for grabs. These included a Sonos speaker, Apple watch, televisions, a digital radio and a selection of fine wines and whiskeys all kindly donated to Darke & Taylor by our suppliers, many of whom the company has long standing relationships with.
During the event, David Newton, former Managing Director and current Vice Chairman, who has worked for the company for 49 of its 60 years, gave a history of the company and expressed his thanks to all who have contributed to its success.
Graham Winstone our recently appointed Joint Managing Director, who is celebrating 30 years at Darke & Taylor this year, said: “The fact that our business has thrived under varied and sometimes challenging market conditions is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone in the team, both past and present. We were delighted to throw this party in recognition of their contribution and to raise a significant sum for the Electrical Industries Charity.”
