We are delighted to announce that our very own Conor McCarthy was one of three apprentices to reach the National Final of the ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year Award.
“The award presents a great opportunity to increase the profile of your business within the industry and gain more contracts. Additionally, when your apprentices are recognised as the best in the industry, your business becomes attractive as an employer.”
Established in 1975, the ECA Edmundson Award is the premier training award in the electrotechnical industry. The award aims to recognise outstanding apprentices who not only have good technical skills, but are role models for others in the industry. The award is sponsored by Edmundson Electrical with the administration and promotion from ECA.
The competition is judged by an independent panel who undertake a rigorous process who noted that the shortlisted candidates were all of a high calibre.
To enter the awards Conor was required to produce a short video a few minutes long detailing a little about himself, why he decided to join the electrotechnical industry, what he has learned during his apprenticeship, what he wants to achieve in the next 10 years in his career and what he has achieved so far, why he is passionate about the industry and why he would make an excellent ambassador for electrical apprenticeships.
Whilst Conor did not win the overall award on the day, we would like to congratulate him on coming in the top three of such a prestigious award against tough competition. He is a credit to the company and positive role model to his fellow employees and apprentices, so well done Conor 😊
