From one electrician…

At Darke & Taylor, we are proud of our heritage which contributes to our unique working environment and company ethos. In 1958, our founder John Darke started trading with one apprentice and in 1972 we purchased Hill Upton & Co. Ltd, Oxford’s first Electrical Engineering company founded in 1890.

Fast forward to the present day and our long-standing commitment to apprenticeships and a sustainable business strategy has enabled Darke & Taylor to grow from sole trader status to one of the largest privately owned building services businesses in the South East.

From its beginnings as an electrical services firm, Darke & Taylor has grown and developed a full range of building services solutions and today has the experience and expertise to offer a one-stop solution for our clients.

Darke & Taylor currently consists of eight interconnected departments − five disciplines and three specialisms − which combine to provide a fully integrated MEP design, installation, commissioning and maintenance package.

Our mission is to excel in the design, installation and maintenance of the MEP building services systems that connect to create fit for purpose building environments.

We call our approach “Connected Excellence” and this combined with our core values enable us to deliver a high quality turn-key approach to our clients, who include architects, building services designers, main contractors and project managers constructing and refurbishing buildings, and the landlords, owners and occupants of these buildings.

We focus on the sustainable development of the business and developing the careers of our staff in order that we can continue to deliver what our clients require in an age of advancing technology.
