Project challenges
NO DISRUPTION TO EXISTING BUSINESS:
The two office buildings shared interconnected infrastructure, a central walkway and a communal atrium/reception area. The high-profile client in Building 1000 could not countenance any business interruption to its systems.
Solution: Any ‘disruptive’ work was scheduled for out-of-hours to fit around the existing tenants’ working hours, whilst temporary power supplies were installed to provide a fail-safe back-up.
PROVIDE A ‘WOW’ FACTOR:
The double height communal/ atrium reception area was to house a new café and act as a social hub for the entire development, offering modern wireless working facilities and the ability to host breakout sessions’.
Solution: Using IPAF-trained electricians on MEWPS (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms), Darke & Taylor (D&T) was able to design and install an innovative, attention-grabbing lighting display.
MAXIMISE FLEXIBILITY AND GREEN CREDENTIALS:
The development was targeting an improved BREEAM rating whilst requiring the easy connectivity for split tenancy agreements.
Solution: From the exterior signage to the bike bays, D&T took a considered top-down view to ensure that all the work matched the Client’s brief.
